Environmental

Medallion Metals is committed to responsible environmental stewardship at the Ravensthorpe Gold Project (RGP). We apply best-practice management to ensure our activities coexist sustainably with this biodiverse region.

EPBC Act Approval

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has approved the Project’s referral under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC Act). This federal approval, granted subject to specific conditions, validates our approach to protecting Matters of National Environmental Significance (MNES).

Our team is dedicated to meeting these conditions through rigorous monitoring and transparent reporting throughout the project’s life cycle.

Document Publication

In accordance with the EPBC Act approval decision notice, the following documents are available for public review. Where information is classified as Sensitive Biodiversity Data, it has been redacted in accordance with Condition 20 of the Approval Decision Notice.

Approval Decision Notice: The formal authority to undertake the Actions described in the referral.

Offset Strategy: Our plan to provide measurable conservation outcomes to balance our operational footprint and residual impacts to MNES.

Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP): The specific protocols used ensure that there are no significant environmental impacts resulting from construction of the Project.

Katie has had the privilege of working in this town before and it left a lasting impression. She values the strong sense of pride, connection and resilience that defines the community and is excited to be back building relationships. For Katie, community engagement isn’t about meetings and paperwork — it’s about listening, showing up and working together to make sure local voices guide how projects take shape. She’s always up for a chat, whether at the local cafe, or over the phone.

Geoff has worked in mining and environmental roles since 2010, with experience across the Goldfields and Ravensthorpe. Since relocating with his family in 2018, he has become an active member of the community, volunteering with environmental and emergency services and contributing to local Landcare projects. Geoff is a strong advocate for finding the balance between project success, environmental care and community benefit. Away from work, Geoff loves spending time exploring the Fitzgerald River National Park and Beaufort Inlet. He believes that protecting and appreciating the unique landscapes of the region is just as important as working in them.

Medallion Metals operates on the traditional lands of the Wagyl Kaip / Southern Noongar people. We are committed to working together to support culture, connection, and community.

The Wagyl Kaip / Southern Noongar region spans approximately 52,246 km² across the Great Southern of WA, covering towns such as Albany, Bremer Bay, Denmark, Hopetoun, Katanning, Lake King, Ravensthorpe, and Walpole.

It is home to significant cultural sites including the Stirling Ranges and Mamang Maambakoort Marine Park. The Wagyl Kaip / Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation represents the Agreement Group under the South West Native Title Settlement, advancing opportunities for Noongar people while protecting culture, knowledge, land, and sea.
